Single sign-on login

Prolog information
With the Single sign-on (SSO) feature, users can log in to Avaya J100 Series IP Phones with their corporate login credentials. After the SSO authentication, the phone obtains the SIP credentials from Avaya Aura® Device Services. Avaya Aura® Device Services Release 10.1.1 and later supports SSO.
Users can log in to the phone through one of the following SSO modes:
  • Primary user SSO login: Available for the primary users. In this login mode, Guest login is not available.
  • Guest user SSO login: Available for the guest users. Primary users must use forced or manual authentication to log in to the phone.
In Avaya Aura® Device Services, configure the global settings, COMM_ADDR_HANDLE_TYPE to Avaya SIP and COMM_ADDR_HANDLE_LENGTH to the number of digits in an extension. Configure the following settings to provide the parameter values to the phone:
  • SIPHA1
  • SIP_USERNAME
  • SIPDOMAIN
  • SIP_CONTROLLER_LIST
To obtain the Avaya Aura® Device Services configuration details after the SSO authentication, configure the AADS_URL parameter on the phone. The parameters values of SIPDOMAIN and SIP_CONTROLLER_LIST from Avaya Aura® Device Services precedes the values from the other sources.
For more information about the SSO feature configuration on Avaya Aura® Device Services, see Administering Avaya Aura® Device Services on the Avaya support site.
Avaya J129 IP Phone does not support the SSO feature.
Note:
When the SSO feature is active, the phone disables non-SSO login for the guest users.
When the SSO feature is active, users can unlock the phone only with the user-defined PIN.
If you enable the SSO feature, do not configure a Group ID for the phone in Avaya Aura® System Manager because the phone reboots every time a user manually logs out and logs in to the phone.
