Configure the PHNEMERGNUM parameter in the Settings file or in Session Manager to assign a default emergency number. The phone dials this number when a user presses the Emerg soft key on the Login screen, the Phone screen, or the Yes soft key on an Emergency Calling pop-up screen. The phone dials the emergency number even if it is locked or the user is not logged in.
The local proxy routes the emergency calls from the phone to the local emergency number. When you configure PHNEMERGNUM, the Emerg soft key overrides the SPEAKERSTAT parameter setting or the user-selected audio path. The Speakerphone becomes the default path when the user presses the Emerg soft key, even if you disable the Speakerphone.
Configure ENABLE_SPEAKER_EMERG to select the default audio path for emergency calls. You can select the Speakerphone or the user-selected audio.
In the Avaya Aura® environment, you can configure the parameters in System Manager. Select the Allow Unauthenticated Emergency Calls field in System Manager to enable emergency dialing from unregistered phones. When a user logs into an Avaya Aura® environment, the phone uses only the emergency numbers you configured in SMGR. If you configure the parameters in the Settings file, the phone uses the emergency phone numbers when the Avaya Aura® proxy servers are unavailable.
