Proxy determination when the phone loses connection to the primary proxy

Last Updated : Apr 17, 2026 |
During the initial configuration, you must provide a list of available SIP proxies to which the phone can connect. You must prioritize the proxies into primary, secondary, and survivable proxies.
Initially, to provide the list of prioritized proxies, you can use DHCP, LLDP, or the 46xxsettings.txt file. After the phone connects to Avaya Aura® Session Manager, Avaya Aura® System Manager provides a new list of proxies. This list precedes over other configuration sources. In System Manager, use the following fields to list the proxies:
  • Primary Session Manager
  • Secondary Session Manager
  • Survivability server
If the phone detects a loss of connection with the primary proxy, the phone fails over to the secondary proxy. If the primary and secondary proxies are unreachable, the phone fails over to the survivable proxy.
