Examine the contents of the shipping package to make sure all the relevant components are available.
Avaya J100 Series IP Phones ship in a box containing an IP Phone, a handset with a cord, a dual-position phone stand, and a regulatory/safety sheet.
Note:
An Ethernet cable is not included in the package and must be sourced separately.

Read and understand the regulatory/safety sheet provided with the shipping.
Download all the relevant documentation for the phone from the Avaya support website.

|
(Optional) Install the wireless module on the phone.
Note:
The wireless module is supported only by Avaya J129 IP Phone, Avaya J159 IP Phone, Avaya J179 IP Phone, and Avaya J189 IP Phone.

|
Assemble the phone by connecting handset, and inserting the phone stand into the slots at the back panel of the phone.

|

|
(Optional) Attach the button module to the phone.
Note:
JBM24 Button Module and Avaya J100 Expansion Module are supported only by Avaya J169/J179 IP Phone and Avaya J189 IP Phone.

Determine the phone provisioning process required for the open SIP server you are using to configure the Avaya J100 Series IP Phones
|

|

|
Set up the Provisioning Server for the Manual provisioning.
|
||
|
8
|
Connect Avaya J100 Series IP Phones to the power supply and network with the Ethernet cable.
|
||
|
9
|
Perform the phone initialization following the tasks for one of the selected methods.
