Prolog information
Using the Secure Push feature, trusted applications can transmit data to the Avaya J100 Series IP Phones over a secure connection.
Secure Push uses the HTTPS protocol for incoming and outgoing requests to the phone. The URI of the secure Push uses the DNS name instead of the IP address for hostname validation.
The initial subscribe message sent to the server indicates whether the phone supports secure or non-secure Push.
The administrator must enable the PUSH_MODE parameters in the settings file to secure and non-secure Push connections.
Note:
You must install the Push Servers identity certificates on the phone for a secure Push connection. If the identity certificate is not installed, the applications ignore the push mode setting and use HTTP.
